The Aloe Vera Mascara guarantees long-lasting look, intensity and comfort. With the structured lash-by-lash brush wand this gives excellent definition, volume and staying power! Its natural nourishing formula nourishes your lashes with organic aloe vera, castor oil and shea butter whilst coating your lashes from root to tip with intense black colour.

Perfect for daily or evening wear, this mascara will give you the length and volume you want. Free from synthetic preservatives and chemicals, this mascara reduces the risk of redness and irritation to your eyes. Suitable for frequent use and even ideal for those with sensitive eyes and skin. A formula 100% of natural origin, certified organic and Vegan.

How to use

To refill your mascara, simply remove the centre that holds the mascara and replace with your new refill. The middle is separated by a metal ring, which makes it easier to pull the empty bottle out. Watch Video on how to Refill your Zao Mascara.

 

Refill

Although not completely plastic free, this ZAO mascara is refillable, you keep the bamboo case and refill the plastic bottle inside which comes with a new brush wand. You can keep the brush wands to use as eyebrow or lash brushes.  They are also used by wildlife organisations to help remove fly eggs and larva from the fur of animals. They work great because the bristles are so close together! It is always worth checking in your local area if there is an organisation near you that are in need of them before you recycle. Reuse. Re-purpose. Recycle.

Key Ingredients

Organic aloe vera juice - The aloe vera plant is renowned for its use in natural medicine for centuries, and is used in our mascara for its abilities to treat conjunctivitis and other eye allergies. Known for its soothing qualities, organic aloe vera juice nourishes and fortifies eyelashes.

Organic castor oil - Castor oil has purifying, nourishing and fortifying qualities, due to its richness in fatty acids and vitamin E.

Organic shea butter - Shea butter is extracted from the fruits of the shea tree, which only grows in West Africa. Its richness in fatty acids promotes nourishment and moisture retention to skin. Recommended as a stimulant to wound healing, it is also protective against UV with soothing and calming qualities.


    Tips

    Before you put on mascara, always make sure your eyelashes are dry and free of cream or oil and if possible dust them with powder (this will give even more volume and staying power). Open the mascara gently and in one movement, avoid pumping to keep the product on the brush, but make sure that you haven’t overloaded it also. If so just gently remove any excess with a tissue (not at the opening of the bottle). If you have a few drops of mascara on your skin after you’ve applied it, wait until it is dry, then gently wipe it off with our biodegradable cotton buds.
