Bamboo Toothbrush = An easy switch

Every year over a billion plastic toothbrushes are thrown away worldwide, ending up in landfill, in the sea or washed up on a beach. Using a bamboo toothbrush with a biodegradable handle is a small change but together we can make a big difference.

We have tried and tested several different children's bamboo toothbrushes and these are our favourite. Once you try a bamboo toothbrush, you won't go back to plastic.

'My two boys, aged 5 and 7, love their Tiny Truthbrushes. Especially the fact they could write their initials on the painted area. The bristles are soft and the design means it's easy to get to their back teeth. It's also nice to know that they are learning about the importance of  living as sustainably as possible from an early age'. Charlie @ Vera-Bee.

Beautiful, simple and practical design

These tiny truthbrushes come in Sunshine Yellow or White and has been designed so that you or your little one can write their initials on the paint-dipped area. We stock the adult ones in White, Pink, Green and Grey. The painted end also protects your truthbrush from going mouldy in your holder.

You can also choose to add a Truthbrush Bamboo Holder which is naturally antibacterial and biodegradable. Perfect for when you are on your travels.

Your Truthbrush will be delivered to you hand-wrapped in tissue paper and protected in a recyclable cardboard pillow pack. Shipping to us by our suppliers, Truthbrush, is also carbon neutral to minimise any impact on the environment.

Disposing of your bamboo toothbrush

If you compost, great - remove the bristles or snap the head off and place the bamboo handle in your compost.  If not, you can place the whole brush in your normal bin and all but the bristles will biodegrade into soil. I have used mine as plant canes. But you can use them for whatever you like. As paint stirrers, to clean those difficult to reach areas in your bathroom, as kids paintbrushes. Be creative!

Why castor oil bristles?

Truthbrush would love to find a genuine plastic-free, biodegradable alternative to nylon bristles. However, after extensive research, they realised that the only non-plastic alternative is boar bristles (pig hair), which would be unacceptable to many people. Therefore, Truthbrush currently use bristles which are 62% plant-based castor oil and 38% nylon, which means less petroleum-based plastic. We believe that a biodegradable handle with castor oil-based bristles is much better than a plastic toothbrush. Truthbrush are continually researching biodegradable bristles. It will happen, and we will be the first to let you know!
