Washing Up Pad Loofah - Loofco
A Plastic-free Washing Up Pad
This Loofco Washing Up Pad has been skilfully handmade in Egypt from the loofah plant. It is completely plastic free and 100% biodegradable. A natural alternative to plastic washing up sponges, dish brushes and scourers.
The washing-up pad fits neatly into your hand and when immersed in water swells up to become a soft, spongy and flexible pad. Loofah plant fibres are durable enough to last for months, making them a cost effective solution too. These effective plastic-free washing up pads won't scratch your pots and pans. And when worn out, you can compost your root vegetable scrubber or throw it away where it will break down naturally and quickly in landfill.
Each pad has a convenient Egyptian cotton hanging loop. Loofco flatten their products for transport to save space - another reason we love them!
We also stock these in a 2-Pack.
How to use your Washing Up PadUse in warm water with a washing up liquid or soap like our vegan and zero-waste Dish Washing Soap Bar.
When dry, these plastic-free washing-up pads will feel quite course and stiff. However, once you soak your loofah in water, it will expand and become soft, especially good for non stick pots and pans.
To keep your loofah fresh between uses, rinse and squeeze out excess water and hang to dry from the cotton string loop. Occasionally wash in the washing machine or by hand if desired.
